According to Topway, their 1300mAh 6S battery pack can sustain continuous discharge currents above 130A, ensuring stable power output during intense flight conditions while minimizing voltage drop.
The company employs a low-resistance electrode manufacturing technique to improve conductivity and reduce heat production. This technology is designed to enhance flight efficiency, prolong battery life, and ensure consistent performance during demanding high-load tasks such as drone racing and aerial filming. To further reduce weight, the batteries are encased in ultra-thin aluminum-laminated packaging, coupled with a reinforced structural design that enhances impact resistance without adding unnecessary mass. This approach is claimed to improve the power-to-weight ratio and increase durability for outdoor usage.
An integrated battery management system is included to provide active cell balancing and protect against overcharging, over-discharging, short circuits, and other electrical faults. This system also supports fast charging and aims to extend the battery’s lifespan. Topway asserts that their battery packs can retain over 80% of their original capacity after more than 300 charge cycles and are built to function in temperatures reaching up to 60°C. A typical 14.8V 1300mAh lithium polymer battery weighs under 175 grams and can handle burst discharge currents exceeding 200A for brief periods.
