Fans of the cult horror-comedy “Jennifer’s Body” can rejoice as a sequel is reportedly in the works, nearly 17 years after the original film’s 2009 debut. Production is slated to begin in Vancouver by October 2026, according to industry insiders. Although the studio has yet to make an official statement, it’s anticipated that Megan Fox will return to her iconic role as Jennifer Check, with the original film’s writer Diablo Cody and director Karyn Kusama also expected to come back for the sequel.
While a precise release date hasn’t been set, the production timeline hints that the movie could hit theaters by late 2027 if filming proceeds as planned. Plot details remain under wraps, but Kusama has hinted that the sequel will maintain the “fun and crazy” tone that fans loved in the original. Cody, too, has expressed her excitement about delving back into the horror-comedy genre, which has garnered a dedicated fanbase over the years.
As for Amanda Seyfried, who played Anita “Needy” Lesnicki in the first film, her involvement in the sequel is not yet confirmed. However, Seyfried has previously shown interest in returning, especially if Fox is on board, suggesting she would be keen to revisit her character if the opportunity arises.
